About
Introducing our Founder/Director, and her revolutionary (scholar-activist) concept for the HE and Recruitment sectors.
Minerva Recruitment Ltd was formally registered in the UK, with Companies House, on 9th June 2022. Created by Dr Rosalie Clarke, following 3+ years (during the Global Pandemic) job-seeking as a trained academic. Rosalie decided it was time to streamline the stressful and arduous process of job-seeking (for HE sector workers), whilst showcasing the skills and talents of job-seekers in this sector (for employers). As a Scholar-Activist, Rosalie is particularly motivated to empower women (and other frequently marginalised scholars) to find better (and more secure) employment opportunities – whether outside or inside ‘the Academy’. Given her background/expertise/training, and an ongoing crisis in the sector, she is also particularly focusing on supporting those scholars representing the Arts/Humanities and some qualitative Social Sciences subject areas. Due to demand, this focus has expanded – STEM scholars will also find relevant opportunities on our website.
On the thinnest of shoe-string budgets, and with ambitious plans to also create an EU-based not-for-profit (i.e. ‘International Women’s University’ concept), Rosalie welcomes support from interested ‘angel investors’ and supporters. The sooner she is able to operationalise a successful start-up, the sooner she is able to focus on expanding the service to include the not-for-profit for the international community of scholars.
Rosalie engaged the services of a UK-based artist, to create the company logo (trademarked with UK IPO). The artist is based in Brixham/the South West, and is a disabled, LGBTQIA+ identifying artist. The artist’s website can be found here.
Rosalie plans to use 30% of the profits (from merchandising) to create a UK ‘artists at-risk’ Fund (named in honour of the artist, the ‘Phoenix Fund’). Further, 30% of merchandising profits will support the creation of the ‘not-for-profit’ mentioned above, for scholars. The other 40% of merchandise profits will serve to support the running of the recruitment service.
Our website was built and designed for us by an amazing ‘local’ small business owner, Nina Best (Leeds, West Yorkshire). You can find her own company, Made By Lemonade Limited, here.
